Martin Crandall of the Shins Arrested/Dismissed (Updated)

Update 1/8/08:
Both Crandall's and Sewell's domestic abuse cases were dropped due to insufficient evidence. Sewell, on her blog, stated that she will not persue and further legal action against Crandall and "will be untangling the web of seven years of cohabitation with my ex-boyfriend, packing up my shit, and thickening up a plot to travel and work in more temperate climes."
Original Story:
Police were called after Marty Crandall, of the shins, and then-girlfriend Elyse Sewell (from America's Next Top Model Cycle 1) got into an altercation in a Sacramento hotel on January 4th. According to Elyse Sewell's livejournal page (now locked), she escaped from the hotel room "through a blitzkrieg of violence" and went to hotel security, who called the police. They both were arrested. Sewell got out of jail early Jan.5th, but Crandall was not released until the 6th.
A court hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, January 8th. After that more details will be known.
